Kerbal space program service bay bug11/28/2023 ![]() If you weren't satisfied or excited with the status of KSP when you bought it, then you shouldn't have bought it. It's the same with errata for board games and recalls for cars and appliances, but barring that WYSIWYG. a good point, you can never tell what users will do to a program to find a bug you never thought to look for. I never have, and never will, spend my money on something until it's reached the point where I'm satisfied with the product even if the company were to up and shutdown the day after my purchase. It even looks like they're going to continue development BEYOND the release of the game's sequel, and yes, I know this is because the sequel is not being developed by Squad, so they won't see any money for it. I, for one, am thankful that Squad decided to continue polishing and refining the game well past what they had marked as the end-point for development. It's not like Squad or anyone else hid the development status of KSP, and if you didn't know, then learn your lesson and do some research before you spend your money.īeyond some bugs, the game was fully and easily playable and neither of the DLCs they've released are necessary to enjoy the core game. ![]() You knew full well what was going on when you hit the purchase button. If you don't like it, don't buy it and certainly never look at being an early adopter. ![]() I see a lot of people in this thread bellyaching and whining about 'incomplete' software being made full releases. I don't know if it was Scott Manley, or someone else that made the video, but as soon as I saw it, I knew I was willing to spend money on KSP, even if development stopped after that because I'd be able to (crash)land on another world. It's a completely optional product that you chose to spend money on.įor me, it was watching people landing on the moon before landing gear was ever put into the game. Nobody forced you to buy KSP when you did. Then use the power of the free market (your wallet) and don't buy a software product until its completion level and functionality meet your requirements. Like when you buy a car, or refrigerator, or anything else besides software. We're asking for complete, functional products. I don't have pictures because I'm on Mac and if I pressed shift for the screenshot it would trigger the engines and cause unplanned lithobraking, which my Kerbals might not appreciate. We're not asking for omniscience. The detaching of everything touching the bay also happened to a separate ship when I renamed it in LKO. I haven't tried opening the bay or moving the ship during this revert. After another revert the antenna, which was connected to the bay, claimed it couldn't transmit because it couldn't be deployed, although it had literally just transmitted a crew report and nothing had changed since then. I reverted again and when trying to reorient the ship with the engines it disconnected everything a third time. When I tried to get her back in, she somehow walked into the bay even though it was closed, and the camera shook around a lot before the ship did the came thing as before, and this time OX-STAT solar panels (attached to the crew pod, not the bay) detached too and kind of hung in the air like they had very little gravity. The next time, I sent Val on EVA before opening the bay just in case. Luckily I had autosaved five seconds earlier. The opening doors pushed the lander up a bit, and when it hit the ground again (at 0.5 m/s) everything connected to the Service Bay, so the engines/fuel and the crew pod, detached randomly. (Maybe this also happens with 1 meter, haven't tried.) I just landed a rocket on Minmus but it fell over because of the slope. I'm having issues with 2.5 meter service bays.
